Hi, we’re (the people in the photo to the right) Matt & Kat Brown, two mid-twenty year olds originally from New Zealand, currently living in Dublin, Ireland. We met in high school and dated for 5 years before getting married in November 2004, immediately after we both graduated from Waikato University where Kat completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences majoring in Psychology while Matt occupied himself by gaining a Bachelor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences with First Class Honours. We’re both Christians who believe that the key to life is having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We’re in Ireland because we wanted to come to Europe for (at least) a few years to experience life of the other side of the world and take advantage of all the interesting places that are nearby to travel to. The choice of Dublin as our European base was made when Matt was offered a job working for Google Ireland as a Linux/Unix System Administrator.
Kat is working for an IT company specialising in web applications and software for monitoring and managing computer networks. As the sole designer in a team of programmers, Kat’s job is putting a pretty face on the web apps and making sure they’re easy to use.
Matt is active in the global Open Source Software community as a Debian Developer and a contributor to many other projects. If you’re interested in that sort of technical stuff, then you can find more info at www.mattb.net.nz.
